your guides

Hi ! We met when the world went online in 2020 and immediately connected through a shared appreciation of spaciousness, beauty and finding the balance point between discipline and pleasure. The work we both do in the world shares a similar intention: to bring women back home to themselves, their bodies and presence through practice, patience and intention. We have had the privilege of co-guiding the first edition of this retreat last September. Although we’ve both led many retreats individually and taught together online, this was our first time guiding a retreat side by side, and it was especially meaningful : a truly felt dream space.

Birjiwan is a devoted women’s teacher. Forever a student, deeply versed in multiple modalities as well as the richness humanness offers. The unique way she weaves together the wisdom and lived experience of kundalini yoga and taoist tantric feminine arts operates subtly but profoundly on many layers of the physical, emotional and energetic bodies.

A lover of beauty, elegance and simplicity, through her online membership, music and mentoring she guides women back to a place of deep softening and presence in one’s sensuality,  body, practice and life.

Her art, process, and a lot of her inspirations converge with the Japanese ways of craftsmanship and sophistication, Birji absolutely fell in love with the region, its lushness and its transmissions last September.

EMMIE

bIRJIWAN

Emmie first travelled to Japan as a teenager, and has had the immense privilege of travelling the country for the past fifteen years, often with local friends as guides. While she currently resides in Tokyo, her favourite places in the country are the quiet, the hidden and the mystical. The places that are a little off the path and often difficult to reach without inside knowledge or Japanese language. It is with so much excitement we host this retreat for you in one such corner of the country.

Much of Emmie’s work is inspired by her time and deep connection with Japan and it is an honor and a pleasure to share these practices in a land and culture that has been so deeply healing for her over the years.

When she is not fumbling through governmental processes in Japanese, Emmie works as a writer, a mentor and the founder of the Daily Rest Studio, an online membership for living, working and relating to the world with more spaciousness and ease.
